Huntly-Nth Bendigo were well in the game at tea being 3/107 off 45 overs. However, after tea they lost 6 for 40 to be teetering at 9/147. a spirited last wicket stand of 44 between Dale Young (33 no off 56 balls) and big hitting Clinton Lloyd (18 of 22) got them to within 32 of the target. New captain Linc McRae came in at number 4 and made 46(eight 4's) off 149 balls faced to be the back-bone of the HNB innings. However, some superb fielding by the Dragons which resulted in 2 run-outs and some very tight bowling turned the game in the overs immediately after tea.
